PRINT SCREEN NOTES

Annotate screenshots online, without uploading them.

psnote is a screenshot annotation tool that runs in your browser. Add arrows, text, boxes, and numbered markers to explain a bug, review a design, or make an instruction easier to follow. No account or image upload is required.

From screenshot to explanation in three steps

  1. Paste or open an image

Paste a screenshot with Ctrl/⌘ + V, drag an image into the workspace, or choose Open image. PNG, JPEG, and WebP are supported.

  2. Mark what matters

Point out details with arrows and rectangles, add text or numbered markers, cover sensitive areas with solid redaction, and crop away distractions. Undo and redo let you adjust your edits.

  3. Copy or export PNG

Copy the annotated image into another application or export a PNG for a bug report, support message, or document. Export keeps the cropped image resolution, regardless of the editor zoom.

Your screenshots are processed locally

Images and annotations stay in your browser. psnote does not upload screenshots or save editing sessions. Copy or export your work before reloading or leaving the page.

The live site uses Google Analytics for site usage measurement. psnote does not send screenshot data, filenames, or annotation content in custom analytics events. Site analytics are separate from local image processing.

Screenshot annotation FAQ

Which image formats and sizes can I open?

Open PNG, JPEG, or WebP images up to 20 MiB and 20 million decoded pixels. Annotated images are copied or exported as PNG.

Why does copying an image sometimes fail?

Clipboard image writing needs HTTPS or localhost, and support and permissions vary by browser. If Copy image is unavailable or denied, use Export PNG instead. To paste, copy an actual image to your clipboard rather than a file path or image URL.

Does redaction remove the covered pixels from exports?

Solid redaction replaces the covered source pixels in the flattened PNG you copy or export. The redaction remains editable in the current session. Cover the entire sensitive area and inspect the exported image before sharing; information outside the covered area is not removed.

Does zoom change the exported image size?

No. Zoom only changes your view of the workspace. Copy and PNG export use the cropped pixel dimensions of the document and do not include the editor controls.

Are my annotations saved if I close or reload the page?

No. Editing sessions exist only in memory. Copy or export anything you want to keep before closing or reloading the page.
